Schuller Bianca 1-light pendant lamp, smoked and veined finish

Schuller Bianca table lamp, smoky and veined finish

The Bianca table lamp by Schuller does not need to be turned on to change a room: its smoky and veined finish acts as a sculptural metal piece that belongs as much to the world of decorative objects as it does to lighting. When the light is activated, the organic character of that veining softens the projection, turning the glow into something denser, more intimate, and far removed from the cold uniformity of a bare lightbulb. With a decidedly modern style and a solid metal construction, the Schuller Bianca collection proposes a way of lighting that focuses on atmosphere rather than lumens.

This 1-light Schuller table lamp is a smart solution for corners that require presence without being overwhelming: resting on the end of an open living room bookshelf, next to a sofa with clean lines, or on a dining room sideboard as a counterpoint to overhead lighting. The smoky and veined finish accompanies surrounding materials without competing for attention, integrates easily into compositions with natural stone, light wood, or linen, and provides that visual tension between the lightness of the name Bianca and the dark, expressive nature of the actual finish—a contradiction resolved with great style by the Schuller design team.
